Private psychiatric practice

Private psychiatric practice — Dr. Scherer

For privately insured patients and those entitled to Beihilfe (civil-servant assistance) we offer a consultant psychiatric consultation (Dr. med. Scherer, consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist). Invoicing follows the German medical fee schedule for physicians (GOÄ). Consultations can be held in English.

Services

  • Psychiatric examination, diagnosis and advice
  • Guideline-based assessment of ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in adults — particularly where depression, anxiety or chronic exhaustion have responded poorly to the usual treatments, and masking or autistic exhaustion may lie behind them (more on this)
  • Couple therapy where neurodivergence is involved (ADHD/ASD) (more on this)
  • Manualised, disorder-specific treatment following the assessment, particularly of the associated symptoms — with standardised measurement of the course of treatment
  • Medication and follow-up reviews (among others in depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD) — how we put the question of medication and what the evidence supports is set out under Medication: what we know and what we do not
  • Second opinions and treatment recommendations
  • Medical reports and statements for colleagues who are treating you alongside us or after us

Appointments for private treatment are best arranged via Doctolib or by email. On request we will gladly draw up an itemised cost estimate with the relevant GOÄ fee codes in advance — including for a reimbursement application to your insurer.

Assessment. Our examination serves clinical classification, treatment planning and communication with the doctors and therapists who treat you alongside us or after us; you receive a written report. Where further support is at stake — rehabilitation, assistance towards participation and inclusion — the report can, on request, also describe your level of functioning and capacity (more on this).
